Awareness Program on Personal Hygiene and Demonstration of Hand Washing Technique

On the occasion of Global Hand Washing Week, Daya Foundation organized "Hand washing and personal hygiene awareness program" in collaboration with Rotaract Clubs of Zone VII for children of three different school of Basantapur area on October 20 and 21, 2016. The schools that benefited were Nirmal Vidhyapith School, Nepal Adarsha Secondary School and Shree Ajad Lower Secondary School. About 100 school students had participated in the program.

The two days program was filled with enthusiastic participation of the students, teachers and volunteers who enjoyed the interactive sessions. Dramas and quizzes were part of the program that got a lot of applause from the children. Daya Foundation also distributed hand washing soap and a mid-day snack to all the participants.

The program focused on teaching hand washing techniques, importance of washing hands with soap and also focused on awareness about personal hygiene to the students of different schools. The program motivates the children to improve their hand washing habits with soap as it is an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives.

Main objectives of the program:
1. To conduct awareness program for the primary level students regarding the importance of personal hygiene.
2. To demonstrate the hand washing technique.
